About the Community Mapping Project.

We want to hear from you, so we can better serve the needs of our community.

As we bring our five counties together under one United Way, we will use your feedback to reexamine our Areas of Impact.

This project will help us identify what programs and initiatives we either have or need to develop. By collaborating with our funded partners, and other local organizations aligned with our mission, we can address the core needs of our community.

Your voice needs to be heard.

We want to empower our community with the knowledge that what you experience, what you think and feel about living in our community is important.

Your experience — your joys and your struggles are part of the bigger story of “us.” By sharing your viewpoint, we can see the bigger picture and work towards creating real, tangible solutions to our area’s greatest needs for generations to come.

The issues faced by our communities do not end at county lines.

Data is important, but the personal stories behind those facts are powerful and can mobilize real change.

By gathering your stories, and sharing what is important to you, we can more effectively communicate the needs of our community to our elected officials and other government agencies.

Here’s how you can get involved.

Complete the Questionnaire — You can answer the Community Questions and when appropriate, fill out the Incident Form.

Share the questionnaire with your friends and family – Invite as many people as you know to complete the questionnaire and add their own experiences to our map.

Become a Volunteer – We’d love a team of volunteers who are willing to go to community events and encourage people to participate. Fill out our Volunteer Sign-up Form and we will be happy to share more information with you.

“Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispossess and to malign. But stories can also be used to empower, and to humanize. Stories can break the dignity of a people. But stories can also repair that broken dignity.”

— Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, author
