United Way Seeks Volunteers and Nonprofits for 2026 Day of Action
Annual regional day of service event set for Friday, April 24.
Susquehanna Valley United Way (SVUW) is mobilizing the region once again for its annual Day of Action, taking place on Friday, April 24, 2026.
The event brings together volunteers across Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, and Union counties for one powerful day of hands-on service supporting local nonprofit organizations.
In 2025, more than 390 volunteers completed projects at 37 nonprofit sites across the region — tackling everything from painting and landscaping to organizing, building, and outdoor clean-up. Organizers are working to grow that impact even further this year.
“Day of Action is a visible reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together,” said [Insert CEO Name, Title]. “In a single day, volunteers strengthen the organizations that serve families, children, seniors, and neighbors across our region every day.”
Susquehanna Valley United Way is currently seeking:
Volunteers (individuals, families, workplace teams, civic groups)
Nonprofits in need of volunteer support for one-day projects
Registration for both volunteers and project sites is open through March 6, 2026.
Projects should be meaningful, well-scoped for a single day, and ready for volunteer teams to complete on April 24.
Community members and organizations interested in participating can learn more or register at svuw.org/dayofaction.
