Susquehanna Valley United Way’s CEO, Adrienne Mael, has announced that she will step down from her role on January 31, 2025, after 10 years of dedicated service to the organization and the communities it serves.

Susquehanna Valley United Way’s 2024 Impact Report celebrates a year of collaboration and progress, showcasing how partnerships with nonprofits, businesses, and local leaders addressed critical regional challenges like housing, substance use prevention, and STEAM education. With tangible outcomes like over $550,000 in tax refunds for local families and the distribution of 2,315 doses of Narcan, the report illustrates the power of collective action.

Susquehanna Valley United Way has been chosen to oversee the distribution of $105,189 in federal funds under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program again this year. These funds will supplement emergency food assistance and shelter programs in Northumberland, Union, Snyder, Columbia, and Montour Counties. The deadline for agency applications is Dec. 5th.

The United Way Diaper Dash launched on October 16, 2024, with a generous kickoff donation from Weis Markets. Organized by Women United volunteers, the drive will run through November 15 and invites community members to donate essential diapers and wipes. All contributions will go to local pantries, providing vital support to families facing financial challenges as the holiday season approaches.

In honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day, we proudly highlight Wavie O'Grady, Lead Family Development Specialist here at Susquehanna Valley United Way. Wavie is part of our Family Services Team and works with local families and their children to ensure they have the tools needed to thrive, no matter their background or circumstances. Susquehanna Valley United Way’s Annual Campaign is underway with a focus on our local ALICE population. The goal is to raise $665,000 for vital programming for this underserved group. Community members are encouraged to participate in United Way’s Annual Day of Giving on 10/24/24, a 24-hour fundraising event designed to Unite our community and Ignite a brighter future. A neon glow party will kick things off at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, 10/23/24, at The Iron Fork at Frost Valley in Danville.
