United Way Launches “United in Community: CEO Roadshow” Across 5 Counties
Five counties, five conversations, one united future.
Susquehanna Valley United Way (SVUW) is hitting the road this September to bring the community together for a five-county listening tour. The “United in Community: CEO Roadshow” will feature new CEO Mark Stankiewicz, who will meet with residents, businesses, elected officials, nonprofit partners, and local leaders across Union, Northumberland, Columbia, Montour, and Snyder counties.
The Roadshow is part of United Way’s global brand refresh, “United is the Way,” and brings a new look and a renewed vision that highlights the power of coming together to solve our communities’ biggest challenges. It reflects the energy, unity, and resilience needed now more than ever as families face growing pressures and needs. It also sets the stage for United Way’s Annual Day of Giving this fall, beginning with the United Way Soirée on October 23 and continuing with a 24-hour virtual giving event on October 24.
“Our communities are strong because of the people who live in them,” said Mark Stankiewicz, President and CEO of Susquehanna Valley United Way. “The Roadshow is an opportunity for me and our team to hear directly from our neighbors about what’s working — and what’s not — in their communities. It’s also a chance to share our vision for the future as we continue to move forward and unite our five-county region and beyond.”
The Roadshow schedule includes:
Union County: Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM at Open Discourse Coalition, 239 Market Street in Lewisburg, for coffee and conversation.
Northumberland County: Thursday, Sept. 18, from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM at SVUW’s Sunbury Office, 228 Arch Street in Sunbury, for a lunch and learn.
Columbia County: Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM at SVUW’s Bloomsburg Office, Mulberry Mills, 160 W. 6th Street in Bloomsburg, for coffee and conversation.
Montour County: Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM at DRIVE, 418 Railroad Street in Danville, for a lunch and learn.
Snyder County: Thursday, Sept. 25, from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM at The Creative Space in Selinsgrove (201 W. Pine Street), for an after-hours mix and mingle.
The Roadshow is open to business and community leaders, nonprofit partners, elected officials, and local residents who want to have a voice in shaping the future of the region. Attendees will meet SVUW’s new CEO and hear about the organization’s fresh new vision. There will also be the opportunity to share local priorities, challenges, and opportunities directly with United Way leadership, while connecting with neighbors, businesses, and organizations working to build stronger communities.
“Your voice matters,” said Stankiewicz. “The insights gathered during these conversations will guide our work and ensure that United Way continues to meet the needs of families and communities across all five counties.”
The Roadshow leads directly into United Way’s Annual Day of Giving, beginning with our signature kickoff celebration, the United Way Soirée on Thursday, Oct. 23, followed by a virtual Day of Giving on Friday, Oct. 24. This is Susquehanna Valley United Way’s biggest fundraising event of the year, fueling programs and partnerships that provide critical support and resources to individuals and families across our community — from free tax preparation and recovery services, to parenting support and early childhood education.
The United in Community: CEO Roadshow is free and open to all. Susquehanna Valley United Way extends a special thank-you to our community host sponsors: Open Discourse Coalition in Lewisburg, DRIVE in Danville, and The Creative Space in Selinsgrove. Their partnership and hospitality are helping to make the CEO Roadshow possible by providing welcoming spaces for conversation and connection.
Registration for all county events is now open at svuw.org/roadshow.
