FAMILY FUN NIGHT: EXPERIMENTING WITH COLORS

  • Family Engagement Center 320 North 2nd Street (back parking lot) Sunbury, PA, 17801 United States (map)

Join us for an evening of creativity, connection, and community at our next Family Fun Night, hosted by the Family Services team at Susquehanna Valley United Way through the Parents as Teachers (PAT) program.

This month’s theme, “Experimenting with Colors,” invites children and their caregivers to explore creativity together through hands-on art activities. Each child will receive their own canvas to paint as part of Painting for Prevention, a statewide initiative led by the Pennsylvania Family Support Alliance that raises awareness about child abuse prevention during Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.

Through color, creativity, and shared experiences, families will help create meaningful artwork that symbolizes hope, protection, and strong communities where children can grow and thrive.

Family Fun Nights are free, family-friendly gatherings designed to strengthen parent-child bonds while supporting early childhood development. Organized through the Parents as Teachers program run by Susquehanna Valley United Way’s Family Services team, these events offer engaging activities such as arts and crafts, storytelling, STEAM exploration, and opportunities for families to connect with helpful community resources.

Come paint, learn, and spend quality time together — we can’t wait to see you there!

What to expect:

  • Canvas painting activity for children

  • Creative exploration through colors and art

  • Family-friendly learning and connection

  • Resources and support for caregivers

This event is held in partnership with the Family Engagement Center in Sunbury, and is open to families with young children. All materials will be provided.

Reserve a Canvas for Your Child

To help us prepare materials for the evening, families are encouraged to reserve a canvas in advance for each participating child. Canvas supplies are limited, and children who are registered ahead of time will have a canvas set aside for them during the event.

Walk-ins are welcome while supplies last, but registering in advance helps us ensure every child has the opportunity to participate.
