Kind Words, Kind Actions: Honoring Kerry Tilford

Registered Nurse | Founder of Magical Memories | Nominated by Stacie Snyder

Kind words matter.

But when kind words are paired with meaningful action, they become powerful.

For our Kind Words, Kind Actions theme, we are honored to recognize Kerry Tilford, RN, for her extraordinary compassion and commitment to children facing serious illness and the families who support them.

Kerry was nominated by Stacie Snyder, who described her as someone whose generosity extends far beyond expectation.

Compassion in Action

In addition to her work as a registered nurse, Kerry runs the nonprofit Magical Memories, dedicating countless hours to providing financial assistance and essential items to children undergoing medical treatment.

Her work helps ease burdens that extend far beyond hospital walls — from practical needs to moments of joy that remind families they are not alone.

What sets Kerry apart is the care behind every detail.

Each item she provides is thoughtfully chosen and tailored to a child’s interests. Every fundraiser and bingo event she organizes is executed with precision and heart. Her “always can do more” attitude ensures that no opportunity to help goes unexplored.

Bringing Reassurance in Difficult Moments

When families are navigating fear, uncertainty, and overwhelming stress, Kerry’s presence brings reassurance.

Her compassion helps lighten emotional and practical burdens so families can focus on what matters most — being present with their children.

As Stacie shared in her nomination:

“She gives selflessly without any expectation of recognition, motivated solely by her desire to make a meaningful difference.”

Kerry’s kindness is not transactional. It is intentional.

Through both her words and her actions, she brings hope, comfort, and dignity to families during some of the hardest chapters of their lives.

For embodying what Kind Words, Kind Actions truly means, we are proud to recognize Kerry Tilford as a 2026 Kindness Award winner.
