Susquehanna Valley United Way’s Annual Campaign is underway with a focus on our local ALICE population. The goal is to raise $665,000 for vital programming for this underserved group. Community members are encouraged to participate in United Way’s Annual Day of Giving on 10/24/24, a 24-hour fundraising event designed to Unite our community and Ignite a brighter future. A neon glow party will kick things off at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, 10/23/24, at The Iron Fork at Frost Valley in Danville.

Dillon Floral celebrated 150 years in business with a Floral Extravaganza on Tuesday night hosted by the Columbia Montour Chamber of Commerce. Sixty-one floral arrangements were created for the event and then auctioned off, with the proceeds benefiting Susquehanna Valley United Way, raising over $2,000 for our community.

Susquehanna Valley United Valley has made significant strides this summer. Strategic planning, annual allocations, and collaborative meetings with partners have positioned them to deliver increased support and resources to our community.

Based on recent ALICE data, more Pennsylvania families are struggling financially now than at this point in time since this data began being compiled and collected in 2010.

May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, shedding light on the critical issue of mental well-being. While raising general awareness is a crucial first step, it alone is insufficient. However, one impactful measure we can all do is mental health training.

The Susquehanna Valley United Way held its inaugural Ambassador Breakfast on Thursday at the Pine Barn Inn in Danville where they kicked off this year’s campaign and announced a goal of raising $550,000.

The Greater Susquehanna Valley and Columbia-Montour United Ways are now Susquehanna Valley United Way. The name was released at United Way’s merger celebration and campaign kick-off on Thursday night and follows a thorough and thoughtful process that begin in June of last year.
